Bubble app timeline: how we scoped a launch in about 60 days

Blueprint first, thin MVP, week-by-week build - a realistic timeline for Application work when scope stays honest

Timeline visual for building a no-code application in about 60 days

TL;DR

  • About 60 days is a realistic window for a focused Application when scope is honest
  • Blueprint comes first - discovery and a clear build plan before anyone opens the editor
  • Weeks follow a simple arc: scope → structure → core build → harden → launch
  • Budgets usually land in the low thousands to ~€20K depending on complexity - use the calculator for a first pass
  • Marketplaces, SaaS, directories, and internal tools share the process - the feature list changes, the discipline does not

Why we talk in weeks, not quarters

Traditional software projects drift because scope is vague and feedback arrives too late. A 60-day application build works when three things are true: the problem is validated, the MVP is thin, and someone owns decisions week by week.

Sixty days is not a slogan. It is a constraint that forces honesty. Simple products can ship faster. Complex ones need more runway. The process stays the same either way.

If you are still arguing about which features belong in v1, start with shipping one feature that proves the product before you book a timeline.

Blueprint before build

We do not jump into Bubble (or code) on day one. Blueprint is the pre-build foundation: users, flows, data model, must-have screens, and what is explicitly out of scope.

That document is what keeps week 5 from becoming "can we also add…?" It is also where we decide whether the right product is an Application, a conversion Website, or an Automation - not every problem wants an app.

The eight-week arc

Weeks 1-2: Discovery and scope

Interviews or stakeholder alignment, user stories, success metrics, and a locked MVP list. Design direction starts here so build does not wait on aesthetics later.

Weeks 3-4: Structure

Database architecture, permissions, key pages, and the first interactive slices. This is where bad assumptions get cheap to fix.

Weeks 5-6: Core product

The must-have workflows ship end-to-end. Edge cases and polish wait unless they block the core job.

Week 7: Harden

QA, bug squash, empty states, mobile checks, analytics. Invite a small group of real users if you can.

Week 8: Launch

Go-live checklist, domain, email, onboarding copy, and a plan for the first week of support. Launch is a starting line, not a finish.

Budget and product type

Typical ranges we see for focused Bubble applications sit roughly €3K-€20K depending on complexity, integrations, and how much strategy is included. SaaS, marketplaces, directories, and mobile-wrapped apps all fit the same arc - marketplaces usually need more matching and trust work; directories need search and listing discipline; SaaS needs billing and roles.

Stack choice still matters. If you are weighing Bubble against custom code, read no-code vs custom code. If you are choosing who builds, compare DIY, freelancer, and studio.
