Why this guide

Clear next steps before you spend

Migrating off no-code or a fragile AI prototype is less about picking a framework and more about what you refuse to lose - users, data, rankings, and the ability to ship next month. Email gets you the full guide.

You will walk away with

  • 01When to migrate (and when not to)
  • 02Migration map
  • 03Audit inventory
  • 04Keep vs rebuild matrix
Inside the guide

What you get section by section

01

When to migrate (and when not to)

Stay put if you are still validating and the platform is not the bottleneck. Go hybrid when one path needs owned code. Full migrate when performance, plugins, ownership, or a second engineer cannot land cleanly.

  • Vibecode tell: demo works, production auth/billing/edge cases do not
  • Stay put can be smarter than a rebuild - write the reason down
  • Decide stay / hybrid / full before you touch a repo

02

Migration map

Seven phases: Decide → Audit → Design & content → Rebuild → Cutover → Stabilize → Offboard. Do not start the rebuild until audit and design intent are locked.

  • Lock design intent first (even on the old stack), then change platform
  • Phased cutover beats a big-bang weekend every time

03

Audit inventory

Inventory flows, data, users/auth, integrations, content, SEO baseline, and analytics. Tag every item carry, rebuild, or retire.

  • Happy paths, edge cases, admin, and roles
  • Entities, relationships, orphans - what must survive cutover
  • Plugins and glue that should become owned APIs
  • Top URLs by traffic before you rewrite anything

04

Keep vs rebuild matrix

Keep (and elevate) core product logic, user accounts, core records, and brand patterns. Rebuild plugins, auth/data model, tests, performance architecture, and a real design system.

  • Pixel-perfect clone is usually the wrong goal
  • Owned integrations beat platform workarounds long-term

05

Design system & content architecture

Migrate tokens and components, not one-off page styles. Map IA, CMS fields editors will touch weekly, locales, and a publishing workflow that is not archaeology.

  • Color, type, spacing, radius - on real components
  • Decide locales before build, not after launch
  • Blog and service pages need a content model, not a dump

06

SEO & URL continuity

Years of links should not die. Build the old→new URL map, 301s, titles/meta, canonicals, sitemap, and an internal-link pass after redirects go live.

  • Locale and trailing-slash rules written down
  • Search Console and Analytics cutover notes
  • Smoke-test the top 20 URLs on cutover day

07

Technical rebuild & vibecode hardening

Repo ownership, auth, data dry runs, parallel run where needed, real API integrations, critical-path tests, and a performance budget. For vibecode: eval, guardrails, and cost control.

  • Dry-run data migration before the flip
  • Replace fragile demo glue with production paths
  • Second-engineer handoff should not require archaeology

08

Cutover day sheet

Freeze window, final sync, DNS/hosting flip, redirects live, forms/auth/payments/webhooks, analytics firing, rollback criteria, and named owners.

  • One war-room owner for go / no-go
  • Rollback trigger written before you start

09

Stabilize (first 30 days)

Watch errors and redirect misses, patch content gaps, and define done as parity + ownership + ship speed - not a prettier homepage alone.

  • Redirect miss log → patch weekly
  • 2 free weeks of testing and fixes after delivery, then maintenance if you want it, priced separately

10

Scorecard & next step

Tick each phase ready or not. Name the biggest risk. Confirm stay / hybrid / full. Time depends on what you carry over, so the timeline comes after the audit.
